Maldon mudlarks draw crowds

Five Kent Blaxill mudlarks took part in the annual Maldon Mud Race in May, which this year was proudly sponsored by Kent Blaxill.

Andy Tanner, Sam Forrest, Dan Barton and James Park were among a field of 300 who waded and crawled through 500 yards of thigh-deep mud across the bed of the River Blackwater to raise money for charity. Sam Forrest, Kent Blaxill's new decorative product manager, even finished a credible 11th place.

An estimated crowd of 13,000 watched the unusual spectacle that has been running since 1973. James Park said: "As a spectator in past years I never quite realised how exhausting such a short event could be. Kent Blaxill was so pleased to be involved with the Maldon Mud Race as it is such a great community event."
