Kent Blaxill Bury St Edmunds Branch

The Bury St Edmunds branch has a brand new look after an £85,000 facelift, which includes cladding in the company’s distinctive blue, white and yellow livery.

“It is almost like a new building now with the smart livery replacing the old grey frontage, and the inside being much brighter and needing less electrical lighting,” said branch manager James Ford. “We have had a very positive response from customers.”

The first phase of the revamp began with manager James Ford and two of the staff working over the Christmas break so that contractors could complete hazardous work on the new roof ready for the branch to open on time in the New Year. “We had to cut the old fixings from the existing roof which created a health and safety problem and this could not be done while customers were in the branch as the redundant fixings fell into the self selection area,” said James Ford.

The final stage of work was completed at the end of February when the corporate blue, white and yellow cladding replaced the old grey, which was in need of repair. Internally a new brick library has been built along side the designer paint and wallpaper area.
John Ford, operations director, commented: “We are creating an image that is instantly recognisable in all the towns in which we trade and Bury St Edmunds was the next on the list to have the facelift.”

Asked about plans for future development, John Ford said: “We certainly have ambition to service other towns that we currently do not have a presence in.”
“The company has received excellent support from local businesses through the recession and has also worked hard with a number of customers to secure the future for both their businesses and Kent Blaxill,” said John Ford. “All the sales staff and management are very grateful for the support the customers have given.”
