About Osmo
Osmo oils and finishes protect and enhance the look of wood surfaces. Established in 1878 in Germany, Osmo is the founder of the classic “Original Hardwax Oil” which is now known as Osmo Polyx Oil. Ever since hitting the markets, Osmo oil has become a popular choice amongst professional decorators, carpenters and amateur DIYers, and for a good reason (or reasons!).
Osmo oil is extremely durable, brings out the grain of the wood beautifully to uplift the wood’s natural character and is resistant to water, juice, wine, and tea spillages. Osmo Polyx Oil is available in various finishes, including Osmo Polyx Oil Satin, Osmo Polyx Oil Matt and Osmo Polyx Oil Semi Matt. These oils have been developed from natural waxes and oils to provide a hardwearing protection for wooden surfaces, such as wooden flooring and wood furniture.
Over the years, Osmo has developed a variety of other wood oils and finishes for specific purposes. This includes Osmo Polyx Oil Raw which is designed for light-coloured wood surfaces as it does not give a permanent “wet look” unlike the standard Osmo Polyx Oil and Osmo Decking Oil, such as Osmo Decking Oil Clear Teak Oil, which will protect and maintain exterior softwood and hardwood.
