About Fire Resistant Paint

Fire-resistant paint, also known as fire retardant or flame-retardant paint, is a safety solution product commonly used in large industrial spaces and public facilities. This paint protects structures from fire by releasing a flame-dampening gas when the paint becomes overheated.

You can use fire-resistant paint for wood, metal, and other internal and external spaces, providing it is fully tested against British Safety Standards. This paint can be applied using either a brush or airless spray.

At Kent Blaxill, we have a selection of high-quality fire-resistant paints. This includes the Bollom Brosteel Ultra 60 Fire Retardant White Paint which can be used on interior and exterior surfaces. This paint uses a thin-film waterborne intumescent coating that provides fire resistance on standard structural steel for up to 30-60 minutes.

Dulux also offers a range of fire-resistant paint, including Dulux Trade Pyroshield Durable Matt Paint. This paint is a water-based solution that upgrades substrates of fire classification from Class 3 to Class 0. This paint has also been tested against the British Safety Standards BS476 parts 6 and 7, so it is certified safe for use.
